What is this blog about?

Welcome to Tanvini's gold & silver bullion collection. I always had a passion for collecting gold and silver bullion. I have been doing a lot of research since last 5 years about the bullions available all over world. I also wrote a small booklet - Gold Investment during my MBA. Finally, I started collecting them from 11 June 2009. This blog is all about the world wide bullions. The blog is for all the gold and silver bullion lovers, collectors and investors to take advantage of my research and also share their knowledge so that others can benefit from it. This is the place for sharing information, knowledge and your thoughts about any type of gold and silver bullion available for purchase in the world bullion market.

Investment Notes:
Stunning in its artistry, beauty and simplicity, this new pure silver proof in the Color Silver Maple Leaf Series ups the ante with a few twists. These upgrades to this most popular of annual programs include:

1) The lowest mintage limit ever (10,000) for a Color Silver Maple Leaf!
2) Proof finish! Before the innovations of last year's Crystal Raindrop Color Silver Maple Leaf, all the previous coins in the Color Silver Maple Leafs Series feature the specimen finish. In fact, this is only the 2nd proof-finish SML ever (after the 1989 proof SML).
3) A new, much higher denomination! Before last year, all previous entries in this series have a $5 face value, while the Crystal Raindrop Color SMLs have a $20 face value.
4) A genuine Swarovski crystal! Not only is this only the second color SML in the series to feature a crystal, it's also only the second Royal Canadian Mint coin ever to combine a crystal with color! Taken together, these upgrades create the most unique coin in the series - and a work of unparalleled gorgeousness! We believe that this coin presents an entry-level investment opportunity in a relatively low-priced proof.

Purity Note:
The Royal Canadian Mint refines the purest silver in the world. This one ounce silver coin is 99.99% pure!

Technology Note:
The Royal Canadian Mint leads the world with its proprietary colorization technology, in which the color is actually sealed on the coin. The intricate detail, smooth gradients, and extreme precision of the technology create a stunning look on each coin.

Description of the coin:
The vibrant hues of autumn & a perfect crystal raindrop together on a simply stunning new Silver Maple Leaf proof! In combining the beauty and simplicity of the Swarovski crystal with its unique colorization process, the mint has produced a marriage made in heaven - and the first Canadian coin of its kind! Here we find a solitary maple leaf, caught at the precise moment when a lone raindrop, tugged by gravity, begins its descent to the forest floor. Gold, orange, yellow, red, with hints of green - the rain runs down the maple leaf, each perfect drop a majestic gem bejeweling the spectacular colors that make up the splendor of autumn’s gown. So powerful is the association between the maple leaf and Canada that you might be surprised to learn that of the 115 species of maple trees in the world, only ten occur naturally in Canada! From the fresh new growth of spring to their ultimate expression of vibrant fall hues, the leaves of the maple enrich the Canadian landscape from coast to coast. In summer, they form a dense canopy that shields against the summer sun, as well as unexpected rain showers.

When the clouds clear, the leaves shine with renewed vibrancy, their wet surfaces reflecting maximum light from the sun. But this moment of heightened beauty is short-lived. As each leaf bends under the weight of the moisture, water collects at its lowest point and begins to form a water droplet. The droplet is dynamic. It continues to grow until the leaf can no longer support its weight. The leaf curves forward, and for a fleeting moment a tear-shaped drop of water hangs between heaven and earth before falling to the ground - a tiny echo of the life-giving rain that passed a few moments earlier.

Swarovski Crystal:
Swarovski is the luxury brand name for the range of precision-cut crystal glass products produced by the privately-owned company Swarovski AG of Feldmeilen, Austria (near Zürich, Switzerland). Swarovski crystal was born when a Bohemian, Daniel Swarovski, invented an automatic cutting machine in 1892. In 1895 the Swarovski Company was founded when he established a crystal cutting factory in Wattens (near Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria). Here he could take advantage of local hydroelectricity for the energy-intensive grinding processes he had patented.

GOLD PURITY:
The declared purity (or fineness) of a gold content is important as it enables its weight of “fine gold” to be calculated. The purity is normally marked in parts gold per 100, 1,000 or 10,000
parts. For example, the same gold purity (99.99% by weight) can be expressed as follows:
9999                9,999 parts gold in 10,000 parts
999.9               999.9 parts gold in 1,000 parts
99.99               99.99 parts gold in 100 parts

995                  Mainly Middle East and Indian Sub-continent
990                  Hong Kong
965                  Thailand

GOLD CONVERSION:

The LBMA records its basis for converting the weight of gold bars from
grams (metric) to ounces troy (imperial), and vice versa, as follows:
1 gram = 0.0321507465 ounces troy
1 kilogram = 32.1507465 ounces troy
1 tonne = 32,150.70 ounces troy
1 ounce troy = 31.1034768 grams = 0.0311034768 kilogram

I am a huge fan of the PAMP gold ingots with the Lady Fortuna design. So I decided to start adding the Lady Fortuna gold ingots in all available sizes. I hope soon I will be able to collect all the sizes. One of the best part about these gold ingot bars are the assurance of the quality since  every ingot bar comes with an assay card with a certificate of authenticity. I love this design of the Lady Fortuna and hope she brings lots of luck for me as well.

Observe: The gold ingot bar has a beautifully designed Lady Fortuna on one side. Lady Fortuna is the Roman Goddess of Luck, Fate, and Fortune, as her name implies.

Reverse: The other side depicts the assay certificate with the number, fineness and weight.

Pamp Suisse Gold Bullion Bars are a wonderful investment. Investing in any type of gold is usually a good decision, and bars are no different. If you collect gold coins, adding bars is a way to increase your profits in the future, should you decide to sell.
When you purchase gold bars, you get more gold for your money when compared to coins. The reason for this is that coins can be higher due to rarity, age or where the coin was manufactured. Investing in gold bars is a good investment for your future. Is it always better to buy gold bars over coins? Not always. If the gold market ever falls, which rarely happens, coins will have more value because of the factors mentioned above: Age, rarity, country of manufacture. Adding both to your collection is a good way to diversify and be sure of a secure financial future.
If you should decide you want to add gold bars to your investment portfolio, Pamp Suisse Gold Bullion Bars are an excellent and high quality choice.
