What is this blog about?

Welcome to Tanvini's gold & silver bullion collection. I always had a passion for collecting gold and silver bullion. I have been doing a lot of research since last 5 years about the bullions available all over world. I also wrote a small booklet - Gold Investment during my MBA. Finally, I started collecting them from 11 June 2009. This blog is all about the world wide bullions. The blog is for all the gold and silver bullion lovers, collectors and investors to take advantage of my research and also share their knowledge so that others can benefit from it. This is the place for sharing information, knowledge and your thoughts about any type of gold and silver bullion available for purchase in the world bullion market.

About the Artist:
Jody Broomfield is a well known Northwest Coast Native American artist. As a proud member of the Squamish Nation, Jody combines his art form with his culture and traditions. He brings the beauty and spirit of his Coast Salish heritage into every piece he creates. Influenced by the pristine nature of British Columbia's forests and coastline, Broomfield's carvings are made with the finest local materials including wood and metals. Each piece Jody creates is unique, and each is sacred. The images above show the artist at work, as well as with one of his one-of-a-kind creations, many of which are held in private collections. Now you can enjoy the work of this fine artist, minted in pure silver on this stunning coin.

Investment Note:
The Summer Moon Mask $20 Pure Silver Proof has a mintage limit of only 10,000, which is the lowest mintage ever for a Canadian $20 silver proof. This is also the same mintage limit as the 2002 Queen Mother Silver Dollar, which now trades for over $400 in the aftermarket. We believe that this will be a very scarce issue once it is sold out at the mint. The Summer Moon Mask $20 Silver Proof is the first silver coin in this series of Native American works of art. The first issue, the gold Four Seasons Moon Mask, was a a runaway hit and sold out so quickly at the mint that a silver coin was introduced for this second design, to make this eminently popular theme accessible to all collectors!

Technology Note:
The Royal Canadian Mint refines the purest silver in the world. The RCM is also the only mint in the world to issue commemorative coins in.9999 fineness. This one ounce silver coin is 99.99% pure!

Description of the coin:
Based on a hand carved, red cedar mask originally created by Canadian artist Jody Broomfield of the Squamish Nation, Coast Salish people, this beautiful silver proof preserves the visual effects of the cedar bark rope and tufted fringe that run around the mask's edge, while the traditional engraving highlights the depth and textures of the original mask. The eminent symbol of life-rhythms throughout the world, the moon represents the grandfather of the Salish people of British Columbia. A supreme protector and guardian of Earth by night, the moon brightens the darkness so they can hunt and fish in the twilight. It rules the tides, enabling fish to swim upstream and into their fishing nets. The moon's unfailing cycle symbolizes life, death and renewal - the power to create new life. The Squamish people express the history and wisdom of their sacred symbols through their culture and oral traditions. In this world view, ceremonial masks and dances are far more than mere theater, performance or art. They preserve the very essence of the people's beliefs and ideals, passing this knowledge from generation to generation. Today, many masks are carved strictly for their aesthetic value. They are a powerful art form in their own right - one that provides a fascinating glimpse into the cultural heritage of a proud Native American Indian tribe.

Packaging:
The coin is encapsulated inside burgundy leatherette, clamshell-style presentation case, lined with black velvet and protected by a black outer box. An individually-numbered certificate of authenticity is included.

1 oz 2008 $200 .99999 (5 9's) GOLD MAPLE LEAF - Canada

Specifications:
Composition - .99999 Gold
Diameter - 30 mm
Weight - 31.15g
Finish - Bullion
Edge - Interrupted serrations

The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) has released a uniquely designed 2008 edition of the .99999 (that's five 9s!) pure one-ounce gold Maple Leaf. This gold coin represents a new standard in investment products and is the only .99999 pure gold bullion coin currently produced by a government mint. 2008 Gold Maple Leaf coins are especially difficult to locate.

I was amazed when I saw this coin for sale and decided that I have to own it. The 5 9's Gold Maple Leaf is a three year program started in 2007. Each year the design will be changed with a very low mintage of these coins. The 2008 design is amazing and the best gold coin I have ever seen in my life. I called a lot of Gold bullion sellers in Dallas to find out the price of this coin but I was very disappointed to know that they were not even aware about the existence of such coin. What a shame!!! Finally I found a seller online and ordered the coin as a New Year Gift to myself.
